Our Services
Voss Collision Centre is a premier auto body repair facility serving Dayton, Ohio, and the surrounding areas. Our services include collision repair, painting, estimating, structural and body repairs, paint preparation and application, and reassembly. We pride ourselves on using the latest technology and equipment to restore your vehicle to its pre-accident condition.
Painting
We take special pride in our ability to match factory finishes as the final step in our restoration. Only factory matched finishes from environmentally friendly Axalta waterborne paint systems are used. Detailed attention is paid to paint texture, gloss, and hue to ensure your vehicle looks as good as new.
Estimating
Our estimating process ensures accurate assessments of the repairs needed. We provide detailed estimates and take pride in our ability to offer precise and fair pricing. Our experienced estimators will walk you through the entire repair process and answer any questions you may have.
Our Repair Process
Step 1: INITIAL ESTIMATE
After an accident, the first step to repairing your vehicle is to obtain an initial estimate of the damage. One of our estimators will provide you with an initial estimate and cost based on visible damage. They will also review the vehicle with you and explain all of the damage.
Step 2: PRE-SCAN & PRE-ALIGNMENT
Once your vehicle arrives at our facility, we will run a series of pre-repair diagnostics, which includes a complete ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) scan. ADAS is responsible for many of the safety and warning features in your vehicle. If necessary, we will perform an alignment check. This helps determine if there is any suspension damage.
Step 3: DISASSEMBLY & BLUEPRINTING
Our certified technicians begin to disassemble the damaged area of the vehicle. Once disassembled the technician begins the "Blueprinting" process. During this process the technician obtains all the necessary OEM procedures, parts, tools, and what equipment is required to return your vehicle back to OEM specifications.
Step 4: SUPPLEMENTAL ESTIMATE
If any hidden damage is found during the disassembly stage, our estimator will add to the initial estimate any parts, labor, calibrations, and materials needed to repair your vehicle back to pre-accident condition. If the repair is going through an insurance company, the supplement will have to be sent to them for approval. While some insurance companies respond quickly, others can take anywhere from 5-14 business days. This may delay any repairs until approved.
Step 5: PARTS ORDERING & VERIFICATION
Any previously, pre-ordered parts that are currently on-site for your vehicle's repairs are verified and the secondary order is placed for additional parts discovered during the disassembly process. While in most cases parts arrive in a reasonable amount of time, there are some that can be delayed or even on back order due to the manufacturer and supply chain constraints. If this occurs, you will be notified of any proposed ETA's for those parts.
Step 6: STRUCTURE REPAIR
This is the first stage of the repair process and cannot be started until all needed parts are on hand to ensure quality fitment. Our technicians utilize a computer-based laser measuring system and an approved OEM tooling system to ensure the structure of the vehicle is restored to factory specifications. During this stage any necessary welded or bonded parts will be replaced.
Step 7: BODY REPAIR
The Body Repair stage includes replacing all bolted, damaged exterior panels, and all metal finishing that may be required. This includes repairing all dents and scratches. Bolt on sheet metal is installed and aligned.
Step 8: PAINT PREP
The areas that need painted have to be cleaned and sanded to ensure proper paint adhesion. Most new parts are "raw" and need to be prime-sealed, and the jambs colored. Any other panels that were repaired will be primed and sealed.
Step 9: PAINT
We take pride in using Axalta environmentally friendly water based paint. Most manufacturers are now using water based paint. Our certified paint technicians determine the proper OEM color codes and formula by performing test spray out cards, which are then entered into the computerized mixing scale. Your car is then pulled into one of our down draft paint booths which are environmentally controlled, where the technician will then refinish all of the prepped panels. There is a 24 hour cure time after the vehicle is baked before the car can be handled.
Step 10: REASSEMBLY
Once the vehicle is painted and passes paint quality and control, your vehicle enters the reassembly stage, where any moldings, bumpers and detailed pieces are properly placed and aligned back onto the vehicle.
Step 11: CALIBRATION & POST-SCAN
Once your vehicle is reassembled a post-repair diagnostic ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) scan will help us determine if any calibrations need to be made and clear any indicative codes remaining. The majority of vehicles 2016 and newer have ADAS systems that need to be calibrated per the manufacturer's requirements.
Step 12: QUALITY CONTROL & CLEAN-UP
Our Quality Control review occurs at this stage, which includes a final inspection by our technicians and estimators to ensure that the vehicle is restored to its pre-accident condition. We know that every member of our team, at each step along the way from the initial estimate, disassembly, through paint, and to the final testing, is dedicated to ensuring that you are 100% satisfied with your repairs.
